Ok today we are going to talk about product knowledge. I will be giving you information on foundation, concealer and powder.
Let's begin with foundation. Foundation is the most important makeup investment you should make. It can make your skin look flawless, cover imprefections and smooth out skin tone. There are two things you need to remember when purchasing your foundation, 1) match your skin tone so that it looks natural, 2) make sure you choose the right formula for your skin type. Remember foundation IS NOT to give your skin color it is worn to protect your skin. There are numerous brands out there to choose from. Bottom line is that it should look like your not wearing any.
Concealer is used to cover any imprefections and dark circles. Now if you are covering dark circles the consistency should be moist & creamy and if you are covering broken capillaries or breakouts should be drier in texture so that it last longer. I like using a foundation brush to apply, it just seems to work easier and looks better. Know you should always put your concealer on first, wait a few minutes and then apply your foundation. Be sure to wait a few minutes before applying your powder so that your foundation is set.
Powder. This is a magical makeup tool. Your makeup will last all day with just a little bit of this. Powder will help to absorb oil and control shine throughout the day. I prefer loose powder rather than pressed. Loose powder helps to set your makeup. Pressed powder is better for traveling and in the purse.
Most the companies out there have mineral products, I love these products. The coverage is better and last throughout the day, even at the gym! I have found that I use less product when I use the minerals.
Now that you have this information you can apply the countoring and highlighting techniques we discussed the other day. That is it for now join me next time when we will be talking about eye shapes and how you should wear your shadow according to the shape.
This Blog is all about tips. I will discuss enjoying your life, makeup tips, organizing and so much more. You never know what you will find here!

Do You Know Your Face Shape?
You might be saying what is she talking about? Well this is important when you apply your makeup. The shape that you should strive for is Oval but we can not all be blessed with this shape. I myself am a Square. The other shapes are Round, Heart, Pear and Long.
How can you tell what shpe you are? The best way is to pull your hair completly out of your face, stand in front of the mirror and trace your face shape onto the mirror with a grease pencil or lipstick.
Ovals are symmetrical. It is usually broader at the cheeks, tapering slightly at the forehead and chin. Rounds are generally shorter with full cheeks and a round chin. Squares have the same width at the forehead, cheeks and the jaw. Hearts are wider at eh forehead and pointed or narrow at the chin. Pears are narrow at the forehead and wider at the jawline. Longs have the high cheekbones, a high deep forhead and a sharp chiseled jawline.
Now that you know the differences in the shapes lets talk how we acheive the Oval look.
The Ovals out there you shouldn't need to contour or highlight because your face is already symmetrical. But you can play.
For the Square people you need to apply Bronzer(lightly) at the temples and at the jawlines starting from the corners. Apply your Highlighting Powder down the center of your forehead, underneath your eyeas and the tip of your chin. Apply your cheek color just to the apples of your cheeks to draw attention away from your corners.
Now for the Rounds-Highlight your forehead, underneath the eyes on top of the cheekbones and the center of your chin to draw attention to the center of your face. Countour your temples, cheeks and jawline.
The Heart shape apply Highlighter to the chin to help broaden it. Highlight the middle of the forehead and underneath the eyes on top of the cheekbones. Contour your temples and cheeks to diminish the width portion of the face.
Pear shaped you need to Highlight your forehead and under your eyes on top of the cheekbones and the tip of your chin. Contour the jawline and cheeks to minimize width.
Long you NEVER highlight or contour because this will make your face look longer than it is. You can brush a little Bronzer across your chin. Be generous with the cheek color and apply it to the apples of your cheeks. Bangs will also help to shorten the face.
Join me next time when we will discuss Foundation, Concealor and Powder.

You Do Not Need To Be PERFECT!!!!!
Wow I wish someone had told this to me as a child. Although I never noticed it as being a problem when I was younger it sure has affected my life as an adult. It makes it very hard to have a enjoyable life when everything around you must be perfect, especially when the world is not perfect.
As a child everything in my life had to have its place and I just thought I was being tidy. As an adult this has become annoying to me and my husband as well. I have this ability to know when things have not been put back where I had placed them. This of course drives my husband nuts. I thank God everyday that he is so patient.
If you know anything about your birth sign then you know us Virgos have issues with being perfect and believe me it is true. Now for certain things in my life I am glad that I have to have it perfect. When I work on a project it can become troublesome because I start to over anaylze and second guess my abilities when I shouldn't. I am slowly learning to let go and enjoy my life and I hope that by reading this you will to!
